The Power of Warsaw
The Warsaw Sports Marketing Center began as the vision of James H. Warsaw, a pioneer in the sports marketing space who specialized in licensing and is recognized for creating the first bobbleheads. Jim’s brainchild was to create the first sports marketing program to be housed in a business school and leverage the breadth of a business degree as a competitive advantage. The first class of sports marketing MBA students graduated in 1998, and the Warsaw Center was born!
The Warsaw Center quickly grew to include multiple graduate programs as well as undergraduate curriculum and the Warsaw Sports Business Club. Alumni from the programs hold leadership roles across the entire sports industry in the US and abroad.
The mission of the Warsaw Sports Business Club is to educate students about careers in the sports industry and provide the opportunities to maximize their preparations for these careers. Through professional development and truly world-class alumni networking, your future is in your hands with Warsaw.
The Warsaw Sports Business Club is comprised of 400+ driven University of Oregon students from 20+ different majors—all with the shared goal of changing the world through the power of sport.

While we’re extremely proud of our large and diverse club membership, we recognize that this can be intimidating. The club offers subcommittees, each with 5-15 members, that give members real experience in event planning, campus engagement, an. We also run a mentorship program for newer members to connect directly with experienced members. Finally, the club provides numerous professional opportunities to work in smaller groups with other members such as site visits, athletic department internships, and consulting projects. Of course, there are plenty of social events and watch-parties too!
-
Through site visits, job postings, events, and more, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with more than 50 companies, including:
The major sports brands, including Nike, adidas, UA, Reebok, and New Balance
The Portland agency network—marketing, advertising, PR, radio, and experimental
The Boston sports business scene—FSM, Celtics and TD Garden, Whoop, Converse, and John Hancock
And this is just the beginning! Every year our alumni continue to spread across the industry and we continue to connect you with them.
